A laminate floor is installed using the floating-floor method, meaning the planks aren’t fastened down with nails or glue. Instead, the tongue-and-groove planks are snapped together and then laid, or “floated,” over a thin rubber underlayment. In this video, I am showing how to install laminate flooring for the first time.

Before you get started, unroll the foam underlayment on the floor and cut it to fit with scissors. Now you’re ready to dry-fit the planks This method is one of the quickest, easiest ways to install a new floor.
