The World’s First 3D-Printed Metal Bridge
World’s first 3D-printed meatl bridge is completed and will be installed across a canal in Amsterdam.The 3D-printed bridge created by Dutch robotics company MX3D, mathematicians from The Alan Turing Institute and Arup.

It’s made of a completely new type of steel, spans 40 feet. will stand in mid-air over a canal,which will be the world’s largest 3D printed metal structure.
MX3D combined an industrial robot, a welding machine and software to make the 3D printers.The footbridge will undergo a number of load tests before it’s installed.

“We have set a vision in which robots would be able to autonomously 3D print infrastructural interventions in our built environment.We hope it will be installed in summer. We just started the permit process as we have now all the positive results from the tests.The city just started the renovations work on the canal wall we have been waiting for two years. This work could be done in six months.”,MX3D says.
