Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini First Look
Limited-edition techno cruiser builds on the sports car maker’s design.
Ducati is feeling pretty bullish on the Diavel these days. Last week it introduced two new variants of the power cruiser, and this week, we’re seeing yet another and even more fantastical spin on the muscular machine, thanks to a collaboration with world-renowned sports car marque Lamborghini. It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that two race-loving neighbors from Italy’s Motor Valley (also known as the Emilia-Romagna region) have joined forces on a unique project: the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini, a special edition motorcycle that uses Lamborghini’s Sián FKP 37 model as inspiration.

The base of the gorgeous new creation is a Diavel 1260 S, which as we know is a more aggressive and performance-biased version of the original Diavel. Which also means the new Lambo version likewise employs a Testastretta DVT 1262 engine in the same upgraded chassis all the Diavel 1260s get, along with state-of-the-art technology and superbike-level braking qualities with an exclamation point in the form of a 17-inch rear wheel shod with a 240mm-wide tire. In Euro 5 configuration, the engine claims 162 hp at 9,500 rpm and 95 pound-feet of torque at 7,500 rpm (the engine put out 138.45 bhp and 85.44 pound-feet of torque on the Cruiser dyno last year).
But the Diavel Lamborghini takes all those attributes to another aesthetic level by transferring some of the basic design language of the Sián FKP 37 to redesigned components on the bike. That includes forged wheels and a front light, both of which explicitly reference those of the car, but also the air intakes and radiator covers, which are made of carbon fiber and designed by superimposing floating elements on the main structure of the Diavel.

Familiar qualities of the standard Diavel 1260 still occupy the background here though, so the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini retains that “power cruiser” riding position and ergonomics of the Diavel model, along with the exposed tubular steel trellis frame, 240mm tire, single-sided swingarm, and fully adjustable Öhlins suspension front and rear. This Diavel ups the attention to detail however, with important identifying elements of Lamborghini design taking key spaces around the bike, like the hexagon and the “Y” motif throughout, seen most notably in the exhaust shape and the aesthetic details on the seat. Other key elements inspired by the car include the Diavel’s radiator covers and air intakes, the muffler cover, spoiler, central tank cover, seat cover, front and rear mudguards, dashboard cover, and headlight frame, all of which are made of carbon and redesigned by Ducati’s design studio, the Centro Stile Ducati.

But you can’t miss that very cool matte green color scheme on the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini, a livery cooked up jointly by Centro Stile Ducati and Centro Stile Lamborghini. The bike’s body is an exact paint match from the Sián FKP 37, called Gea Green while the frame and the forged rims use an Electrum Gold color. Meanwhile, you get hints of typical Ducati red on the Brembo brake calipers. The number “63” seen on the body panels references the year Lamborghini was founded, 1963.
The sophisticated electronics suite transfers over as well, with Bosch’s six-axis inertial measurement unit platform enhancing a rider’s aid package that offers Cornering ABS EVO, Ducati Traction Control EVO (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control EVO (DWC), Ducati Power Launch EVO (DPL), and Cruise Control.
Owners can also purchase a specially designed matching helmet with the same livery.Ducati
The Diavel 1260 Lamborghini joins the Diavel 1260 and Diavel 1260 S models for 2021, though pricing and availability have yet to be announced. Ducati will produce 630 numbered copies of the Lambo model, and owners can also purchase a special jet-style helmet with coordinated graphics, designed by Centro Stile Ducati.
